I have been doing karate at IKS since I was five and a half and now I'm in my ninth year. I started doing it because of my neighbors whom I looked up to. The first time I was there I didn't want my mom to leave me there with people I didn't know. Hanshi told me that he would tie my mom to the chair she was in and it would be OK. Karate has been great ever since that day. I have learned so much from IKS besides actual Karate. I have been taught discipline, how to interact with other people, how to perform in front of a group, self confidence, responsibility and many, many other things. Karate also helps you stay in shape and get your heart rate going. There are so many more positives to taking karate at IKS that you should find out by trying it out yourself.
